Dundalk hosts it usual all weather card with the first of eight races due off to post at the county Louth venue at 5:50. Unlike the United Kingdom, Ireland has no problems with the weather and racing is expected to go ahead at Naas on Saturday and Leopardstown on Sunday without any problems.

The opening Group Discounts At Dundalk Handicap looks a wide open contest and an interesting runner is the Murdeach Kelly trained Forbidden City who finished a close second last week at the venue. Mark Monaghan claims a valuable seven pounds off and he should be able to cope with the draw from stall five. Bank On Black and Almadaa look the main dangers.

Roman General looks the horse to beat in the Dundalk Maiden for trainer Edward Lynam after finishing second

to the Tommy Stack trained Kedleston last week at the venue. Willie Lee takes the ride with newcomers Mazarak and Filatore looking the dangers.

The Ice-vibe.com Horseware Ireland Handicap looks a wide open race and a horse that knows his way around Dundalk at this stage is the Mick Halford trained Lord Kenmare. Lord Kenmare finished a close fifth last time out at the venue and had previously won. He has a nice draw from stall one and Conor Hoban takes another five pounds of his back. Iron Major and Knockgraffon Lad look the dangers.

The Horseware Owners And Trainers Bar Launch 24th February sees the Andrew Oliver trained Mutasareb bidding for his fourth win of the year at Dundalk. However he won’t have it all his own way as stiff competition will come from the Edward Lynam trained Spin Of A Coin and Mick Halford’s Elizabeth Coffee who is no stranger to winning at Dundalk.

Jessica Harrington’s Johnnys Legacy looks set to run another big race in the This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Maiden with the Charlie Swan trained Discovery Bay looking the main danger.

Despite the wide draw in division one of the Winter Racing At Dundalk Handicap, the Paul Hennessy trained First Friday can run another big race with Michael Hourigan’s Run With The Wind the main danger.

Tom McCourt’s Horsewithnoname has some solid form on the flat and looks a huge danger in division two with Kevin Manning booked to ride. Harry Rogers Cave Artist looks the danger.

Mick Halford is represented by Danick Of Time and Devonelli in the concluding Follow Dundalk On Facebook Rated Race. Danick Of Time won nicely at the track last week but slight preference is for Devonelli who has a nice draw and Mark Monaghan claiming seven of his back as well. Aragorn Icon looks the threat.
